You can lock a folder in Windows without using any third-party software by following these steps:
Create a new folder that you want to lock.
Right-click on the folder and select "Properties".
In the Properties dialog box, click on the "Advanced" button.
In the Advanced Attributes dialog box, check the box next to "Encrypt contents to secure data".
Click "OK" to close the Advanced Attributes dialog box.
Click "Apply" and "OK" to close the Properties dialog box.
Windows will now prompt you to confirm if you want to encrypt the folder and its contents. Select "Apply changes to this folder, subfolders, and files" and click "OK".
Windows will now encrypt the folder and its contents, and only you (or someone with your login credentials) will be able to access it.
Note: This method of locking a folder in Windows only works if you have a version of Windows that supports file encryption, such as Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, or Education. If you have a version of Windows that does not support file encryption, you may need to use third-party software to lock your folder.
